THE T2FIT SALAD

Amazing news!!
T2 Fitness and founder Tasha Turnbull have teamed up with The Green House Kitchen to create the T2Fit Salad!  You all know how creating delicious salads from week to week has helped me to keep my weight loss in check throughout my journey.  And T2 Fitness has always believed one of the best ways to get in a healthy dose of fresh veggies into your diet is through a robust and vibrant salad.
So we’ve teamed up with the The Green House Kitchen to come up with a uniquely healthy, flavorful, and yummy salad that your tastebuds and body will love from week to week.
This week’s salad will include pan-seared Salmon, quinoa, roasted broccoli, avocado, sautéed carrots, and balsamic dressing.  This salad provides the perfect combination of protein, healthy fat, fresh veggies, and complex carbohydrates you need to keep going strong through your busy day.
As a special bonus for our T2 Fitness family, when you head to the Green House Kitchen and order the T2Fit salad, make sure you say the words “Goal Over Excuses” to receive 15% off your salad.  So make sure you stop in for lunch and enjoy in GHK’s chic cafe or grab one to go.  Either way, you will LOVE it!
The Green House Kitchen is located at 345 Granby Street in Norfolk, VA.
Hours of Operation are Monday 11am – 3pm, 6pm – 10pm.  Tuesday: Closed.

GOAL SEEKERS 5K RACE SUCCESS!!

Our inaugural Goal Seekers 5k Race was a huge success!  We had an amazing turnout, perfect weather and over 350 people who came to seek and reach their goals for 2017.  Special thanks to our sponsors:  Southern Illinois University, TowneBank, The Vitamin Shoppe, Dave & Buster’s, Fleet Feet Sports, Phoenix Restaurant and Lounge, and Pepsi Co.  We would also like to thank our volunteers and group volunteers:  Bayside High School Students, Get Lit Keystone Club of The Boys and Girls Club, NuDelta Lambda Shape of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, students from Hampton University, Sigma Omicron Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, and The Impact Nation Cheerleaders.

Delicious Recipe | Shrimp & Veggie Frittata

Shrimp & Veggie Frittata

Shrimp Frittata.jpgRecipes that incorporate multiple food groups in one meal are a great way to making sure you’re getting enough nutrients from each food group. Below is a delicious Shrimp & Veggie Frittata recipe that is sure to take your breakfast or brunch to the next level.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of red peppers, sliced
1/2 cup of broccoli, rough chopped
1/4 cup red onions, chopped
2 tbsp of sundries tomatoes
7-8 eggs, beaten
1/2 lb of shrimp, peeled and deveined
Olive oil
Pam cooking spray
Salt and pepper
1/4 tsp of Mrs Dash
1/4 tsp of blackened seasoning
1/4 tsp of garlic powder
Instructions:
1) Heat medium-sized cast-iron skillet with 2 tsp of olive oil.  Season shrimp with Mrs. Dash, blackened seasoning, and garlic powder in small bowl and set aside.
2) Turn on oven to 375 degrees.  Add veggies to skillet, except for sundried tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until veggies are half way cooked, about 2-4 minutes
3) Spread veggies throughout so they’re evenly distributed within skillet. Next, add in beaten eggs and make sure egg mixture goes all the way to the sides of the skillet;  if not, add more eggs.
4) Next, place shrimp and sun-dried tomatoes evenly throughout frittata.  Place into the oven for 5-10 minutes or until the top of the frittata is golden.  Serve immediately and top with plain Greek yogurt, guacamole, hot sauce.
